Hi there – I’m Johild!

I’m so glad you’re here.

This blog is all about discovering tools that will help us create an extraordinary daily life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and aligned with who we truly are.

I want to encourage and support you as we explore and gain wisdom and insights from the following topics that will help us grow into the people we want to become:

  • Personal growth
  • Productivity
  • Self discovery
  • Intentional living

As someone who values learning, I’ve been deeply fascinated by personal growth for the past decade, and the small everyday choices that shape the lives we live. What started in 2015 as an interest in mindfulness and self-compassion slowly grew into a love for topics like personality psychology, productivity, inner parenting, spirituality, minimalism, assertiveness skills, personal finance, astrology, and stoicism.

Through all of it, I’ve come to believe that it is in the present moment, in the ordinary moments of our daily lives, that we can create an incredible future for ourselves – an extraordinary life!

So I’m really glad you decided to join me on this journey of broadening our horizons. Now, grab your favorite snack and hot beverage, get cozy, and let’s travel toward a more meaningful life together!

FAQ

Fun fact: I’m actually a night owl, so the name might sound a little ironic. But to me, “We Travel at Dawn” symbolizes fresh starts, new chapters, and the decision to finally move forward, even if we don’t have everything figured out yet. I wanted the name to capture the feeling of entering a new season of life and becoming a wandering explorer of ideas, growth, and self-discovery.

When I came up with the name, I was watching the TV show “Once Upon a Time.” I imagined a group of travelers gathered around a bonfire the night before a big journey, making plans and preparing for what lies ahead. Then someone finally stands up and says, “It’s settled then — we travel at dawn!” There’s something empowering and hopeful about that moment to me. We may not have all the answers yet, but a new beginning is waiting in the morning, and we’re ready to take the first step toward it.

My journey began back in 2015 when I was in my late 20s where I started exploring topics within personal growth, productivity, and self discovery. For the past decade I’ve read countless books, listened to a ton of podcasts and taken several courses on the following topics:

  • Self-compassion
  • Mindfulness
  • Personality psychology
  • Productivity
  • Inner parenting
  • Spirituality
  • Minimalism
  • Assertiveness skills
  • Personal finance
  • Astrology
  • Stoicism.

So, it’s been quite a journey where I’ve learned a lot and grown a lot, and it’s been amazing – and now I want to take that journey with you!

As someone who’s an introvert, a highly sensitive person, and has people-pleasing tendencies, my biggest lesson came in my late 20s / early 30s where I needed to realize my own self-worth, stop being a doormat, and learn to become assertive and speak up for myself. It was a huge game-changer, and is a continuous journey.

Creating an ideal weekly schedule! I started by building gentle morning, afternoon, and evening routines. Then, I slowly expanded into creating an ideal weekly schedule. Lastly, I time-blocked everything in Google Calendar. Having a structure that supports the life I want to live has had a huge impact on my everyday life.
